Shasta believes every pool can be a safer pool:

Why is pool safety important?

Drownings are much quieter than people realize, often without any splashing, and they can happen in an instant.

Among preventable injuries, drowning is the leading cause of death for children 1–4 years old.

For every child who dies due to drowning, another five will visit the emergency room for nonfatal submersion injuries.

Pool and water safety tips.

Everyone should learn to swim. Survival swimming lessons can be taken by kids as young as six months. This is perhaps the single best way to remain safe around the water.

Secure the pool area. Install pool covers, child alarms, self-locking gates, and or fencing to prevent unsupervised access.

Learn how to properly perform CPR.

Actively supervise children whenever they are around water. Do not get distracted while supervising children.

Always store pool chemicals properly in a secured, child-proof location.

Install anti-entrapment pool drain covers if your pool doesn't already utilize them.

All non-swimmers should wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved  life jacket.
